ICSC RECON ASIA PACIFIC 2016

 

On behalf of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), we are pleased to inform members that the ICSC Recon Asia Pacific 2016 will be held in Shangri-La at the Fort, Taguig City, Manila from 11-13 October 2016.

Themed Positioning Malls For Success In A Rapidly Changing Environment, the plenary sessions will look at the future of shopping malls from various perspectives ie anchor tenants, fashion retailers, F&B etc. and the unification of brick-and mortar shopping malls with online retail.

This seminar in Series 8 is themed Strata Management – Time Bomb Still Ticking, will present topics on the current situation in strata management since implementation of the STRATA MANAGEMENT ACT (SMA) 2013 and the Strata Management (Maintenance and Management) Regulations 2015 which have been effective since 1 June 2015.

The seminar brings together prominent industry players, property practitioners and representatives from relevant associations/bodies from both the public and private sectors who will share insightful experience with participants.

The seminar will cover the following topics:

• Standard Operating Procedures for Newly Formed JMBs/MCs and The Challenges

• Who Can Manage Strata Properties and The Managers’ Role

• Challenges for the Approval of Strata Developments

• Developers’ Pre-Opening Maintenance Period – What to Look Out For

• Legal Implications That You Need to Know in Strata Management Act 2013

• Designing Strata Mixed Developments

• M&E Designs for Strata Mixed Developments – The Learning Curve

There will also be a SPECIAL Promotion for corporate memberships as follows:

  • existing corporate members who currently have more than one (1) membership may include additional shopping centres/buildings as new members by only paying an entrance fee of RM2,500.00 plus the Annual Subscription Fee of RM2,000.00 (total payment: RM4,500.00).

 

CATEGORY 3

In addition, a SPECIAL Promotion for individual membership will be as follows:

  • personnel who are currently employed by existing corporate members of the Association can now join as individual members and have the entrance fee Just pay the Annual Subscription Fee of RM200.00 (total payment:RM200.00) !

 

 INCENTIVE

An incentive payment amounting to 10% of the entrance fee paid, (subject to approval of the membership application) will be given to any current members who signs up a new applicant.

Interested personnel are requested to submit their application forms together with a *crossed cheque payable to “PERSATUAN PENGURUSAN KOMPLEKS MALAYSIA (PPK) ” to reach us on or before 5.00 p.m. on the last day of the abovementioned periods and/or call our Secretariat at Tel: 03-7727 6202 for further information.

East Malaysia Regional Meetings

Persatuan Pengurusan Kompleks Malaysia (PPK) (or the Malaysia Shopping Malls Association) recently held our outreach meetings in East Malaysia on 15 & 16 January 2016 in Kuching and Kota Kinabalu respectively. As our association operates out of the Central region (Klang valley), this is our regular outreach to physically keep in touch with members in the various regions of Malaysia ie Southern region (Johor and Malacca), Northern region (Perak, Kedah, Perlis & Penang) and East Coast region (Pahang, Kelantan & Terengganu). Time has flown by as the last meeting in East Malaysia was held in January 2014.
