Themed “Empowerment Towards Co-operation with Tenants in Business Management”, the annual regional conference amongst members of the Council of Asian Shopping Centers (CASC) was organised by Mall China with participation from seven countries, including Malaysia. PPKM President, Ms Phang Sau Lian presented our perspective on “Malls Revitalisation – The Power of Local Culture” focusing on the four challenges – economic, technology, consumer and politics.

There were several threads running through the conference and these included closer collaboration between landlords and retailers to set up new businesses, and current trends with emphasis on the needs of young Gen Z shoppers.

As part of the conference schedule, mall visits were organised on the last day to Shanghai Joy City, Raffles City The Bund, L’Avenue, Metro City and TPY Center.
